Life Drawing

Big
studies at mural scale, medium sized portrayals and tiny sketches
comprise this body of work. Models range from the young and
acrobatic to the stately and elderly, the usual to the
exotic. Line itself and shape convey most of the
message. Mediums are kept simple, just charcoal, chalk, or brush and
ink,
for the most part; sometimes a stick or a bamboo pen and ink introduce
the unpredictable, an accent of chance. Style changes, now it
is
realism, now expressionist, all edgy dash and scramble.
Likeness
and mood work through the inevitable blockages, the permanent
filters.
